Thanks to research conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen, we are a few steps closer to overcoming ALS, a hitherto and currently incurable neurological disease. The researchers working on exploring and curing this disease will be awarded the Publication Prize of Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen and the University of Debrecen.

István Pócsi and Tamás Emri, professors from the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Microbiology at the University of Debrecen, are ranked among the best in the world for their outstanding achievements in fungal stress biology. They research human, plant and insect pathogenic fungi as well as industrial microorganisms, while their research could also be relevant for industrial and pharmaceutical development.

He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Debrecen on Friday.
Emerging seed leaves and fresh data are among the results of research measurements from the International Space Station that keep coming in constantly.
